What you need to do!

  • Download the game
  • Go to the MAILMAN (cat)
  • Download the DLC
  • Obtain the "Guild Cross Armor"
The guild cross armor is an extremely strong armor since it has an extremely high amount of defense from the very beginning of the game (it has 24 def while armor at that moment have 1 - 6 def a piece) and is extremely good as a gathering set packing 3 points in geologist (a skill that increases the amount of minerals and bones gathered) as well as 2 level in botanist and some utility skill for stamina and wirebug management (useful while traversing the map)

The set

The talisman is optional but nice to have; at the beginning of the game you will have or 2 talisman (1 is a preorder bonus, the other is a DLC) > Novice is the best of the 2, if you don't have it equip the other one (that you will have 100% as long as you've downloaded everything from the mailman)

Even though the guild cross set is really good, it is actually not the only one you will end up using at the beginning of the game; in fact you will most likely swap the chest and the arms parts in favor of pieces that gives you botanist instead of geologist.
  • In gathering quests that requires you to obtain shrooms and plants in general, botanist is more important than geologist itself.
So here below you will find a VARIATION of the set above (really easy to make, requires you some zenny and some pieces of iron) that is overall weaker but allows you to obtain botanist LV 4 at the beginning of the game.
